EASE OF DOING BUSINESS FORUM
MTF Managing Partner, Atty. Euney Marie J. Mata-Perez, was one of the panelists during the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Forum held on January 30, 2019 at the Ateneo Professional Schools Auditorium, Rockwell, Makati, Philippines. Atty. Mata-Perez, along with other local experts, were invited to discuss the implications of Republic Act No. 11032, otherwise known as “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018”, which was signed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte on May 28, 2018. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon M. Lopez was the event’s keynote speaker.
The EODB Forum was attended by representatives from various government agencies and business groups.
Mr. Mon A. Abrea, Founding President of CSR Philippines, welcomed the audience with a brief discussion on the government’s initiatives to improve ease of doing business in the Philippines while Ms. Riza G. Mantaring, President of Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), delivered the business industry’s response to DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez’ keynote speech.
The event also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the DTI, CSR Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Graduate School of Business, the Bureau of Internal Revenue, MAP, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Go Negosyo, and AFFI Empowering Entrepreneurs.
The signatories to the MOA agreed to collaborate in initiating programs and addressing issues in the ease of doing business in the Philippines.

Atty. Mata-Perez, who is also the Corporate Secretary of CSR Philippines, joined the panelists in discussing about R.A. 11032, the areas in the law that can be improved, and its actual implementation.
