MTF Updates – DOLE Labor Advisory No. 17 dated May 18, 2020
Dear Valued Clients and Friends,
We are sending to you a copy of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Labor Advisory No. 17 dated May 18, 2020, providing for the guidelines on employment preservation upon resumption of business operation.
The DOLE encourages employers to adopt work-from-home or implement a telecommuting arrangement. The employers may also use alternative work schemes or flexible work arrangements while the Public Health Crisis exist.
Employers and employees may agree voluntarily and in writing to temporarily adjust employees’ wage and wage-related benefits. Employees who are separated from employment due to authorized cause shall be entitled to the final pay pursuant to Labor Advisory No. 6, series of 2020.
